About us
Founder, Therapist, Supervisor
I’m Mimoza Paloj, and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Clinical Supervisor. I received my Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Loyola University Chicago, and my Master of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy from The Family Institute at Northwestern University.
I am passionate about helping individuals and families navigate major life transitions such as marriage, parenthood, and divorce. I believe that developing greater self-awareness and compassion—for ourselves and those around us—is key to building meaningful connections and achieving personal growth. Using evidence-based therapeutic approaches, empathetic guidance, and a collaborative mindset, I empower my clients to face life’s challenges with resilience and clarity. My goal is to foster self-awareness, nurture healthy relationships, and promote emotional balance in all aspects of life.
My journey into the field of therapy has been deeply shaped by my cultural background, which serves as a foundation for my work. Cultural sensitivity is at the core of my practice, ensuring that therapy is inclusive, affirming, and tailored to each client’s unique needs and experiences. A crucial part of this process involves diving into our personal histories to uncover patterns that may be keeping us stuck—whether rooted in past relationships, family dynamics, or societal conditioning. Healing often requires unlearning old narratives, reparenting ourselves with compassion, and reshaping the ways we engage with the world. Through this work, I help clients move beyond survival mode and into a place of growth, authenticity, and emotional freedom.
I specialize in working with individuals facing mood disorders and complex trauma, as well as couples struggling with disconnection and conflict. A significant part of my work is supporting families navigating divorce, helping parents make informed, thoughtful decisions for their family's well-being. I understand the emotional toll of this transition and work to minimize distress while fostering cooperative co-parenting and healthy family dynamics. My approach is centered on creating a path forward that prioritizes stability, emotional health, and strong relationships.
